Summer Training Program

LIONS OFF-ICE TRAINING

Saint Viator Lions mandatory summer training information can be found under the new Summer Training tab to the left. this includes off-ice weightlifting requirements to tryout for the Varsity team, off-ice training program for all JV players and incoming freshman, the mandatory 5,000 puck challenge for all JV players and incoming freshmen, and the Lions warm-up program.

Lions Summer Ice

The Lions will be hosting Summer skates through the months of June, July and August. All current, incoming and College bound alumni are welcome to skate. Players must provide current USA hockey insurance information if they did not skate with the Lions in the '09 Spring or '08 Fall season.

Sessions are $15 if paid in advance and $22 at the door.

Full equipment is mandatory for all players, including mouth guard and neck guards.

Academic Awards

Saint Viator High School recently honored Freshmen, Sophmore and Juniors at their Recognition Program. Each year Saint Viator presents awards to students who acheive High Honors, Academic Awards and Department Awards. This year seven of our hockey players were among these students.

Saint Viator Hockey Club

CPHL and SCHL season set at West Meadows

The Chicago PREP hockey league will begins its first season this summer at West Meadows. Following the success of the SCHL Collegiate League, the CPHL will be formed for local High School players to stay on the ice over the summer. CPHL: 14 yrs and older, 10 games. No practices. Season runs June 26-Aug 2 on Friday and Sunday nights. Players are selected on teams through the coach's draft. Game jersey and socks are included.

This League is designed to prepare High School, College and Jr Players for fall tryouts and training camps. It's also a GREAT way for HS players to play up a level and get used to the College/Jr hockey level. SCHL: 17 yrs and older, 10 games. No practices. Season runs June 30 to July 30 on Tuesday and Thursday nights. Players are selected on teams through the coach's draft. Game jersey and socks are included.

Lions Spring Hockey

Congratulations to the Lions JV team on winning the JV division of the West Meadows Spring Hockey League. The Lions defeated the Rolling Meadows Renegades Midget team in the Championship game.
